The APD on the Shifting Landscape of the 2020-21 Dermatology Application Cycle in the Era of the COVID-19 Pandemic
The Association of Professors of Dermatology Program Director Task Force welcomes students to view a spreadsheet that shares information about dermatology residency programs for the upcoming 2020-2021 application cycle. It includes multiple tabs that share program contact information, interview dates, meet & greet dates, and information about virtual electives. Please check back as the application deadline nears as additional information will be added by programs as it becomes available.
The APD and DIGA jointly hosted a webinar on the shifting landscape of this year’s match cycle. The recording can be access from the link below. Additionally, please take this survey from the APD on transparency in the Dermatology Residency application process – the results will be used to make guidelines presented to all program directors: https://stanforduniversity.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_bxctI0TVDUU9gSF. In September 2020, APD published a statement on the use of tokens, also known as preference signaling, during this application cycle. Please click Statement on Preference Signaling September 2020 to read the full statement.

University of California Irvine Department of Dermatology Virtual Student Elective
University of California Irvine Department of Dermatology has designed a one-week virtual elective to allow interested dermatology residency applicants to learn about our department. We know that the opportunity to get to know a program and its residents/faculty is extremely valuable in the process of applying to residency. We would love to give interested fourth-year medical students and others applying to dermatology residency in the Fall 2020 cycle the opportunity to “spend a week” with the University of California Irvine (UCI) Department of Dermatology. This will involve online-only activities that can be done remotely from your current location. We will endeavor to maximize your exposure to many aspects of dermatology and our department. This elective is not for credit – no credit or grade will be issued. We hope that your experience will be both enjoyable and motivational. Please refer to the flyer for more information.
